The very last part is a quote from one of them. He is replying to the idea that many consider what they want to do as dubious. After all, isn't fast food what it is out of necessity?
His response? "Choi grins. 'It's not impossible,' he says. 'You just have to give a damn.'"
It makes me think about conversations I have had with a few recently. There is so much we take for granted that really sucks. Some would say it is "impossible" for things to be any different than they are.
What if the only difference between it being what it is and being something better is "giving a damn?" What if it really is that simple?
Of course, the idea itself may be simple, but the implementation? Maybe not so much. Maybe that is why you really need to give a damn - because it will take something from you to make it happen. You will have to see things differently, and go against not only the prevailing tide, but also against all of those who think it cannot be done.
If you don't give a damn, that is way too much to ask, but if you do, who knows what could be possible?
