I had no idea what I as in for.
I was told if I was claustrophobic they could give me some medicine to keep me calmer during it. I didn't think I needed that. I am kinda glad I didn't go that route, for the sake of creating this MP3.
I suggest that you listen to the whole recording one time through before listening the first time. At the very least listen to the beginning and the end. Among other things I want you to be aware that you need to be responsible for you. You need to do what is best for you. This is only meant to complement anything else you do. I am not a medical professional and do not intend to take their place or in any way suggest that you shouldn't do what your doctor recommends.
I also suggest that if you enjoy the recording you listen as many times as possible if you know a scan is coming up.
Having said that, I created this recording as a way to give you some peace during the test. It helps you to set up a way to relax leading up to the test, as well as during it. If you have any questions about the recording, please feel free to contact me. I do not address the condition of "claustrophobia, " although someone who is claustrophobic may still find this helpful.
You will find this recording to be a bit rough. Given my current circumstances I created it without scripting it first. It may sound really simple, but it took a considerable amount of time to put together.
If you find it helpful, I would appreciate a donation. I am someone who has been dealing with cancer, and financially the situation is formidable. (You can see info how to donate here.)
You can feel free to pass this recording on to others, however, I would appreciate you linking them to this page, so that they can get the benefit of what is written here.
Thank you.

Your donation would be greatly appreciated.
PS If you would like to tell me about your experience with it, it would be appreciated.
PPS Here is a video about the MRI experience. There are many you can find on YouTube. Others might give you a better sense of the range of sounds you will hear during the test. I picked this one because I thought the puppet made for a more unique one, and maybe even a little spooky, LOL. I have to laugh when it says you might fall asleep. I am not sure that is too likely...but then again, with my recording you might get so relaxed, you might!
After having to endure a traumatic MRI scan, I turned to this recording for help. I found the recording to be simple and effective and Elizabeth's voice was easy to follow.
ReplyDeleteIt reduced my fears and concerns by allowing me to feel more relaxed and less claustrophobic in anticipation of my next scan.
On a personal note, I know further listening will enhance and reinforce the positive effects provided in this recording. I appreciated discovering a safe way to deal with my fears and concerns relating to an MRI scan.
Thank you!
I am so glad to hear this! I hope it will help others, as well. Thanks for sharing.
