When everything seems
headed down
the hardest place to look
is up.
And it's so easy to get stuck
without any friends
and not much luck.
I'm here for you
and your for me
Not something to
take for granted
but aught to be.
The promise of the future
will soon be a memory
of a time you
spent with me.
Smiles and frowns will
attach as scenes
play themselves out.
And undoubtedly
what we'll eventually find out
is that
when everything's looking up
the hardest place to look
is down.
