Poem: Robert Sexton

I have been going through old papers. I wanted to just throw everything away without looking at it. But if I had, I would have thrown this poem away. Over the years I write things on scraps of paper and all over the place. This one was in a calendar. I believe it was written by Robert Sexton, after googling the words. I don't know where I got it originally, as I did not put the author's name. This speaks to me at such a deep level, it feels like something I could have written.

You need not say what's in your heart
I see it in your eyes
Such a tender love
that runs so deep
must never be denied
Enfold your body close to mine
and let our arms entwine
to hold each other closer still in
ecstasies divine
As two hearts seem to beat as one
Your every thought I know
I will always know
what's in your heart
Your eyes - they will tell me so
Across the years
I will walk with you
in deep green forests
on shores of sand
and when our time on earth is through
in heaven, too,
you will hold my hand.
